Warwickshire safe for now as three party alliance defeats Birmingham land grab

Warwickshire county councillors meeting in Shire Hall today (3 September 2015) voted down a proposal to join a revived West Midlands metropolitan county council. A rare alliance of Liberal Democrat, Conservative and Green councillors blocked Labour's support for the scheme.
