Warwickshire Conservative County Councillor backs Lib Dems

29 Mar 2015

Speaking at the small business breakfast in Warwickshire College, Rugby today (27 March 2015) the conservative county councillor for Fosse, Phillip Morris-Jones challenged Tory MP Mark Pawsey to tax the multi-million pound dwellings of millionaires living in the south-east of England.

Richard Allanach, who represented the Liberal Democrats at the event, thanked Cllr Morris-Jones for his support and confirmed that it was indeed Liberal Democrat policy to introduce a Mansion Tax. The Mansion Tax would be collected through the existing Council Tax mechanism and not through setting up an expensive new bureaucracy as the Labour Party wished to do.
