Rugby's unemployment down again (21 Jan)

21 Jan 2015

The Office for National Statistics today released the unemployment figures for Rugby in December 2014 (21 January 2015).

Unemployment measured by the number of people claiming job seekers allowance fell by 36 between November 2014 and December 2014 to 538. This is almost a quarter of the level of unemployment in Rugby when Labour was last in power (April 2010) when the number of people claiming unemployment benefits was 2,046.

This suggests that the stability produced by the agreement between the Liberal Democrat and Conservative parties in May 2010 has been highly beneficial in reducing the number of people unemployed in our town.
