Rugby Liberal Democrats have launched their election manifesto for the local elections on 6 May 2021 calling for a Fairer, Caring and Greener Rugby.

The manifesto sets out the ambitions for the Liberal Democrats in Rugby. It builds upon the work that we have been doing in the Town Hall such as investigating a Town Council for Rugby under proposals for local government reform, protecting our green spaces, introducing a Private Rented Sector Charter to help tenants and support landlords, supporting volunteering and community groups, and a plastic free Council.

All candidates are pledging to be Active, Caring and Effective (ACE) Councillors and work for the communities they represent and build back a strong green economy.

Introducing the manifesto, Councillor Jerry Roodhouse (Leader of the Lib Dems on Rugby Borough Council), said:

"Covid 19 has changed how we work and live. It has also presented opportunities and we need to seize them to change things for the better. We must put mental health and families first along with accelerating our actions in tackling climate change. Our task as politicians is to build the foundations for the next generation."

"The evidence is building so we need to support those that have endured mental health issues during this pandemic and look to building a better Rugby that is stronger and provides brighter future. This is why we say everything has changed and we now need a Rugby that is Fairer enabling opportunities for all Caring for residents and Greener because we know that there is no planet B.

"If you agree that Covid has changed everything, and you want a fresh vision for the future then we urge everyone to join with us and vote Liberal Democrats on 6 May 2021."
