Have your say – Review of County Council free bus pass scheme

Warwickshire County Council (WCC) is currently undertaking a review of the concessionary travel scheme within Warwickshire. They have put together a survey to collect information about how people use their bus pass, and to collect any comments people may have about the current scheme.

The service was last reviewed in 2012, so WCC are undertaking a new review to find out how customers across Warwickshire use their bus passes and help WCC to decide whether they should consider changing the current discretionary elements of the scheme.

Public consultations carried out in 2010 and 2012 led to a 9am start time being retained across the County as it offered the greatest benefit to the greatest number of residents.

Warwickshire County Council (WCC) operates the England National Concessionary Travel Scheme on behalf of central government for Warwickshire residents. This provides free off-peak bus travel across England for eligible residents who qualify because of age or because of a qualifying disability.

The closing date for responses is 4 August 2017, and a report will be taken to WCC Cabinet in the autumn.
