Cllr Noreen New Helps Raise Hedgehog Awareness

Hillmorton and Paddox Allotment Association held an open afternoon and BBQ to encourage new members and promote wildlife preservation.

Guest speakers attending the event included: Judith Conroy from Ryton Organic Gardens, who talked about 'organic methods of pest control'. Stephen Trotter of Warwickshire Wildlife Trust gave an informative talk about hedgehogs and how to encourage and protect this 'gardener's friend', as their numbers are now in serious decline. Cllr Noreen New also expressed her concerns about threats to wildlife and shared some of her humorous experiences of trying to rescue hedgehogs!

If you are interested in an allotment, there are currently a few vacant plots available. Please contact Brian Caldecott for more information on 01788 337611.
