Campaigning for a fresh start

Jerry Roodhouse Your Next MP?

Do You Want To Make Your Vote Count?

10.50.47am BST (GMT +0100) Tue 24th May 2005

Millions of voters in the recent General Election feel that the voting system has let them down.

A Labour majority of 67 seats with only 35.2% of the UK vote is the flimsiest base of public support ever for a majority government.

You can express your personal strength of feeling on this subject by signing the "Make My Vote Count" petition - a campaign for voter choice and a more representative parliament.

You can also sign up to the "Campaign for Democracy" sponsored by the Independent newspaper.
